I'm no expert but I think that is a picture of King Abdul Aziz.
He was the first King of the modern day country of Saudi Arabia.

He started unifying the various tribes in 1902 and ruled the Kingdom until 1953.
The image resembles pictures of him with the same headband and beard (see picture below).

So, for the Saudis, it's kind of like putting George Washington's picture on a watch.

You never know, it might be worth more money with the image on it.

I鈥檇 buy it, and then I鈥檇 start a chain of pasta restaurants with that as my logo. I don鈥檛 know why I鈥檇 do that, but whoever made that dial didn鈥檛 have a good reason either.

There are quite a few of this type of watch knocking about as they were given as gifts by the Saudi Royal family.
You can find them with the Emir of Bahrain too.

Would I buy one?
No.
I remember a couple of years back a member turned up with one in good condition and was told the image hurt the value - but he got pretty much normal market value for it - so there are folks out there (most likely Saudis) who do buy them.

Exactly... I think you are right.
However maybe an engraved back case would be enough...

It will always be sunni when you're wearing that watch.

Holy s***! Take my like.

To OP: It's definitely unique and you are likely to never run into something wearing that exact example 馃槈
