Hey! First post here, as i've not really had contact with Omega as a watch brand before.
My dad and I where recently going through some old stuff from my granddad and we "found" two DeVilles, one of them being the 166.0094 - the other one is a Quartz model which i cant identify - I'll post a picture at the end, maybe someone can help me out.

Here's a picture of the DeVille

Lets get to the point: This watch needs some crown/stem work, it stays when fully pushed in but it doesnt click into the outer position anymore - it just falls out.
I really wasn't able to find any prices on these watches and am wondering if its even worth getting it repaired.

From taking it home and moving it I was able to see the movement running, it seems to be running fine, not sure on the date. I took this picture a few hours ago and it started moving the date, and now its still on 21. Dont remember if it was on 20 before, but maybe someone knows in which direction it cycles the dates and can tell from the picture.

Maybe someone has an idea on how much this repair should cost? Of course i would also get it cleaned up in the process, this doesn't seem to be a watch you open too often (from what I've read).

Overall, what do you guys think of this watch? It doesn't seem like it was very popular in the 70s, and the style is defenitely not "in" right now - so its probably not worth selling.

Secondary I was wondering if someone can identify the DeVille Quartz. I was not able to do that yet, I dont know anything about these older Omegas.

Thank you!

The price to repair the watches could vary from 100-500 USD. It's like saying that a car doesn't start. How much to fix? It is obviously entirely dependent on what is wrong.

If you want to keep the watches, then find a good watchmaker (there are already 100's of threads on the forum discussing this) and spend the money. Do your research first though.

The 166.094 has an automatic movement and should start running without the crown 贸n it and as you mentioned, the movements works properly so far. Ripping the crown out is intended by Omega to get the movement out for overhaul. Tool 107 is to pull out the acryl and when crown is removed you have access to the movement.

To me, the 166.094 is a pretty underestimated watch for some people saying is more for a lady's wrist but it has 41mm dia without crown and so it's not (at least to me 馃榿)
I've got one in a pretty new condition and have to confess I don't wear it too often but won't miss it in my collection.

So greetings from mine

And btw, I would say that new stem to the crown and a service for the movement will never cost 500 $, I would say you'll get the overhaul much cheaper.

Cheers,

Winny

Thank you for your replies.
As for a watchmaker: I do have a good Omega watchmaker here where I also service my other watches, so I'm not worried about that.

Regarding the pulling-out crown: So its supposed to easily fully come out? I already read that you get the glass out with pressured air, not a removing tool (like for example on a gg-w-113), but I'm not sure if its supposed to be the way it is. How would I set the time if it just comes out when I pull on it?

I have small wrists so personally 41, maybe 42, is absolutely the max size for me - I tend to go for even smaller watches.

Thanks!

That it comes out easily now means you're not seating it properly when you try to put it back in. Worry not on that score, the watchmaker will take care of it.

Imho the pressed air approach only works over the caseback and as an example I know the Cosmic 2000 caseback which is pressed in and kept in place by a larger plastic seal. To open it one need to get the inner case popped out the bracelet by regular pressure and after that pull out the crown and after that use air pressure to get the caseback out 馃榿馃榿
Here some picture
