At what point does "patina" become "dirty & beat-up"?

 

I often think that the word "patina" gets stretched a little, especially with some of the descriptions on the bay.

 

Luckily these come in two flavors: true vintage and watchco franks. That macro doesn't hide anything, does it?

 

Certainly seems to prove that those old crowns were not waterproof!
