Dr.Sascha
·Another sacrifice to cover two new acquisitions. On offer is an iconic Wittnauer 7004a Professional, one of the quintessential sports chronographs of the late 1960s and early 1970s. The deep black dial is complemented by arrow batons with a broad-arrow minute hand, indicating this piece is the second iteration. Minute subdial has regatta countdown. The big burgundy bezel that has made this watch so desirable is bright and sharp. No dings or visible wear to outer edge.
Case: all stainless steel, unpolished 40mm, 20mm lugs. Lugs are nice and sharp.
Crystal: vintage G-S acrylic high dome
Movement: workhorse Valjoux 7733. Running strong and keeping good time. All chronograph functions work perfectly and reset exactly to zero.
Dial: original, with tritium lume that is ageing nicely
Crown: generic replacement
Case back has a light engraving, "Fritz With Love Carol" (This could be polished out by the new owner, no offense to either Fritz or Carol, I'm sure)
Bezel: Excellent condition, turns easily.
Hands: aged tritium lume that has been reinforced/repaired by James Hyman. Not really visible to the naked eye but can be seen under a loupe
Presented on a croc strap, but will be shipped with a plain black, brown, or NATO strap at new owner's preference.
Hard to let this one go. Bought from an OF member and would like to keep it "in the family" if possible!
Asking £2200. Reasonable offers considered.
Free shipping in the UK (RM SD), international shipping can be arranged at extra cost.
I might consider a trade for a Seamaster 120 in large format and very good condition or an Omega Geneve Admiralty with a dive bezel.
I have sold and traded several watches before on OF, recent testimonials available here:
