Good luck. I’m in a similar situation. Recently redundant. No interview as yet but when it comes it will be first one in 12 yrs.
Walk in as if you have the job already. Confidence is everything and with that 105.012 what else do you need.
I read that and thought "not had an interview in 9 years??", then realised the last time I was asked to interview for a position was 26 years ago. Since then, any job offers have simply been whispered quietly in an office or over a meal. I realise now how I've simply taken that for granted. Good luck.
Thanks for sharing. It goes a long way too making this feel like a community. Good luck with the interview!
I was interviewing for some vacancies in my team a couple of months ago and a chap walked in like that. Irritated the hell out of me. Needless to say he didn’t get the job. Good luck @bags1971
He clearly wasn’t sporting a Speedmaster, was he?! While there are few things more annoying than a sales-y candidate, in this case, I suspect the suggestion meant ‘act confidently’, not cocky. These days - and it is about bloody time - the cards are now held by both interviewer and prospective employee. As they say, hire for fit as much as skill. You cannot teach attitude. Of course, one’s skills and ability and attitude must be a cultural match; yet it’s absolutely essential for a candidate to not only feel confident during the contrived ‘circus trick’ interview process (hence be confident, ask good questions - do your research!), but you must get a feel for the place you may call home for 30-60 hours per week. You need them, sure. But they better give you a great reason to offer them the professionalism and capabilities you have crafted and honed throughout your career. You. Are. Worth. It. And they know it. Good luck @bags1971. We have your back!! (My $.02 says the guy who has been consulting for the last few years after being downsized. No resume-gotten gigs for quite some time, thankfully. Less overhead, no need for clothes shopping, more time to work out and ride, but way less money to spend on watches.)
Confidence is good, but too much can make a person look a little cocky, which isn't appreciated. A watch, like that dashing speedy, will definitely increase your chances of getting the job. Just wear a suit; wear the watch and attend the interview. Good luck!
