    Not much a bird photographer myself (despite my avatar) but me thinks the 500 gets most of the action unless you can get really close (<5 m).

    We get red polls, nuthatches, chickadees, sparrows, blue jays, downy woodpeckers, flickers, finches, grosbeaks, magpies, and crows.

    A couple of jays in our back garden in Leeds yesterday.
    (Apologies for the crappy pic)
    These were once birds rarely and fleetingly glimpsed in remote woodlands but now becoming more common in tree-lined suburbia - but having a pair visit the garden is still a bit special.
