Dear fellows, I guess it could be interesting to see some widows from around the world with focus on vintage Omega watches. Lets begin in Duisburg, Germany.

Ok, understood. "They" is an older watchmaker who is one of the gurus in reapairing your Omega watch. The watches on display are all fully restored and in very good shape.
I guess he is more into the movements

Could I ask that the posters tell us where these windows are as well, just in case we happen to be ambling through that city

It was not at this stage on my travel list, but that window may be enough to get me there. Thank you

@Spike, my mind is blown by these photos. Talk about a candy store! Yes, I can see that these watches are generally overpriced, but if I were there with a credit card in hand the thinking part of my brain would be completely short-circuited.

If only those were USD prices. Almost worth the cheapest flight you could find and a weekend shopping spree.

Some nice watches at the Strand  but the dreaded £ currency symbol, agh! :( However, watches with a € tag seem more plausible these days...

Well they are certainly polished and over priced and a number of them have been redialed (which they do state on specific watches) but 'not really so nice' I guess is subjective.

Although the watches probably wouldn't appeal to the 'collector', the shop has been there since 1946, always seems to have people inside browsing and offers a 2 year guarantee on what they sell. I guess if I was an average Joe looking for a one off purchase and wanted to see a large selection in one place, it wouldn't be a bad place to check out......

I had a friend who bought a sea master from this shop then went for afternoon tea. While eating his sandwiches the crown and stem simply fell out. When he returned they accused him of deliberately breaking the watch and gave him a huge hard time before grudgingly granting him a refund. This level of customer service put me off completely.

Customer service and workmanship by the sound of it, very very poor from a shop that advertises that it's watches are fully serviced before sale and have a 2 year guarantee.

A friend of my son's went in there to decide what he actually wanted to buy, luckily my son told me what his friend was up to so I steered him away from there and onto this forum. He's ended up buying a watch from one of our Aussie guys and is combining a holiday to Australia to pick it up in person, seems like I gave him good advice:thumbsup:

I agree completely. I loved to look at them, just could not find one that I was completely comfortable with. Sometimes our knowledge here is a handicap as we view the world. ;)
