Hi to all, I saw this on the bay and will like to seek the opinion of the folks here before I pull the trigger. Is this a correct example. Think the price is reasonable though. Thanks in advance http://www.ebay.com/itm/300743362114?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Best regards, Gavin
It's a US made case. Looks correct except for the crown. I think the dial was cleaned but the person who did it couldn't get close to the markers - you can notice it in the pictures around the 4, 5, 7, and 8 arrowheads.
For the money as just a wearable solid watch, that's not a huge amount of money to spend to get something looking that good on the wrist, for that price you're not paying for mint collector pieces but yea I'd actually pay that for that piece.
I'm really getting tempted to buy ONE Seamaster, but I have yet to see the right one. It would have to be stainless and preferably sporty.
Lots of options - the 60's and 70's dive watches. Most had chunky cases, rotating bezels, black dials, and caliber 565's inside. Imagine a non-chronograph Speedmaster with automatic and a serrated spinning bezel. Right up your alley!
May I know how do I know if it is a US made case. Is it due to the stamping on the caseback? New to this and I have not really seen caseback stamping like this one so was not quite sure if is authentic? Should I be concern that it is a US made case? Thanks.
Not really its just a matter of companies doing battle with the bureaucracy, stupidity, and utter wank that is the United States customs and import restrictions over the last half century.
Yes, the model number is the giveaway. It's authentic - just ask here about potential purchases. No, not at all. These were made to Omega's specifications, just not by Omega. Like Ash / dsio said above, it was done to save money on the import taxes.
