Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Omega charge the same service cost for all their chronographs?

Yes, so the prices are no different. However there will be fewer options available to you for service, as many watchmakers won't service these. In some cases even Omega doesn't service them in local service centers - they replace the movement with one that has been refurbished at a central location, and your goes back into the pool to be sent off to go in someone else's watch down the road.

Thanks Archer! Well, I hope that isn't the case if/when I eventually send mine in to Omega...I'd love to keep the original movement in it!

My local watchsmith said he could service it, and it'd be $650, but I'd like to ask him what his "service" entails, and if it includes working on the DD chrono. I brought it to him the day after it arrived to make sure it was keeping good time, and so far so good...+/- 5 seconds per day.

Indeed - many who say they can service these only service the base movement, and that's only doing half the job.

What鈥檚 your opinion of the difficulty in servicing the DD module?
Having disassembled, cleaned, oiled, and reassembled it once - I find it a little tricky and finicky, perhaps not as intuitive as a typical chronograph. But that was my experience doing it once. I can only imagine with time and experience it wouldn鈥檛 be that hard.

It鈥檚 a lovely watch in its own right. Enjoy it as it is and don鈥檛 feel it鈥檚 beneath a Speedy Pro - it鈥檚 different in the same way that a Seamaster Pro is.

Congratulations!
The important thing is that you like it and enjoy it.
Personally I think that it is a great watch that actually deserves more attention
And it looks so much better on the leather strap...
Cheers
