Wondered. If anyone might be able to help?
I have a 1958 seamaster 2846 and wondered if an early 60s beads of rice might fit?
Bracelet stamped 1444. Ends stamped 80

The proper bracelet would be a 5-row BOR, not a 7-row. Not familiar with those endlinks so not sure if it’ll technically fit.

You are looking for bracelet ref: 8220 on 12 endlinks for period correct to the watch.

Alternatively you could have the following bracelets: 1502, 8220 and 1036
and mix and match with the following endlinks: 11, 12, 14, 514, 511 or 512

Hi
Many thanks for your help
Still a bit confused though about the mix and match (sorry quite new to this)
Are you saying any of the six endlinks would fit the lugs and any of those would match the three bracelets that you mentioned ?
If so then possibly the job might be easier than I thought
Any thoughts on a reasonable budget ?

cheers and thanks again!
Regards

No worries,

So the only endlinks which I can say for certain came on 50s BOR bracelets originally are the 12 endlinks which fitted onto the 8220 bracelet. There may be others (namely 11 endlinks), but I have not been able to verify this.

The bracelets numbered 1502, 8220 and 1036 are all pretty much identical visually. The endlinks 11, 12, 14, 514, 511 or 512 are all compatable with the above bracelets. So you need any combination of endlink/bracelet.

It is easiest to buy the endlinks with the bracelets, as the endlinks can deform over time and lead to fitment issues with the bracelets.

In fact, after having a look on the for sale page here @No Mercy has one for sale: https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-bor-1502-ss-bracelet-with-11-end-links.109962/ which would fit nicley. I would say 228USD is a good price, especially for a bracelet in this good a shape. I would recommend reaching out to him for the bracelet.

Just to add, I got my 5 row BOR from @No Mercy and was very happy indeed with it!
It fits my 50’s seamaster very well which is very similar to yours (was watching yours on eBay myself) 👍

I have two watches on BoRs and I can add that they also simply wear very nicely. Go for it.

Nice watch! These 50’s Seamaster’s on the 5 row BOR are the most comfortable watch on earth. I have a couple of the variations that Lucas7 suggested and they are all pretty much the same and mix& match.

Agreed. I have an early 60's Constellation on a BOR and it's the most comfortable wearing watch in my collection. The BOR combination of lightness and flexibility is hard to beat. It just molds to the contours of your wrist.

The robust lugs and bold case of that early Seamaster demand the big round links of the 5-row BOR, which always reminds me of this picture:

I bought one of those bracelets years ago, figuring I'd eventually find a watch to go with it. So far, no watch. 🙁

Love the bracelet but have tried to respond via his posting but my prompt seems to refuse me permission.
Have tried to send messages but not sure if these are arriving.
Might you have any ideas as a more experienced forum member what might be the issue?

Many thanks
Roger

As you are under 200 posts, you cannot reply under the thread. If you have sent him messages I am sure he will reply.

You can PM anyone, but responses in the sales threads are for over 200 post members. Regardless, rules dictate that if you are interested in buying something in the FS section, don’t post to the thread but rather PM the seller privately.
