I noticed that almost everyone who asks for information about a watch shows the dial only at the end of the presentation and this even when information is about the dial itself. I'm wondering why since the quality of the dial is usually (at least in Italy) the first thing that can make you understand the value or decide to buy a watch.
When I look on Italian eBay or other Italian sales pages, I know that every time I see a watch advert where the shown on the link is not of the dial, there will be major issues with it...
Yes, but not only for Italian sellers. However, in a "common" vintage watch the dial probably represents 80% of the economic and collector value. So it seems normal to me to show the dial first.
I suspect most members here are more interested in the condition of the movement and its markings than the appearance of the dial.
Whenever I see an advert with the movement shown rather than the dial for the main image, I don't even bother clicking on the advert. If the movement is more beautiful than the dial, so much that photo takes president I'm not interested in the watch.
To be honest I didn't notice that this was a typical issue of the italian sales announcements in particular...
