Why is this Rolex doing this?

Hello all, and happy holidays -

I have a datejust with the cal. 3035, and ever since I got it serviced at an RSC I’ve been having issues with the date wheel.

The date, periodically, doesn’t flip cleanly into place. This happens every third day, on average. I’ve taken it back to the RSC. They intervened, and I’ve noticed it’s gotten better (it used to happen every day shortly after the service). Manually quick-setting the date works well. Winding the watch by hand also makes the date wheel shake up and down slightly (and I can sometimes feel a “click”).

I’ve read online that the 3035 has a touchy date-change mechanism. It was fine before the service. Does anyone know what might be causing this? I’m curious if someone has an idea and can help me out before I take it back again.

Thanks in advance! Appreciate any input.

Our opinion of what might cause the problem is of far less value than having the RSC look after the problem under warranty..

Okay, sure. Insightful response.

The RSC doesn’t tell you why it’s malfunctioning. It’s been there twice and the issue persists. I’ll obviously follow up with them, but given this is a Rolex caliber with a 10-year run, was wondering if someone’s seen this before. Would help me understand the issue.
