Upon reading that Donn Chambers I hereby identify myself as a "casual collector."

From my understanding, the perpetual calendar is set at the moment of purchase by a technician who is experienced in doing that, and if you EVER let it wind down and need to have it reset, the advise is to send it to the manufacturer to have it reset and not do it yourself.

This is not a movement for casual collectors.
No, that's totally wrong, it's easily adjustable by the owner. I've had over six perpetual calendars over the years of various designs, never had an issue setting any of them.

If you let your perpetual calendar run down you can simply pull the pin on your Brietling Emergency, which will dispatch a technician to your home.

Omega 175.0037. They threw in a chronograph function for good measure.

I love every Omega watch that I own, and I own a number of them. I own one JLC and it is objectively a better watch than all of my Omegas in every way. IMO, JLC is every bit as good as the Holy Trinity and, while not cheap, SO much less expensive than anything PP, AP and VC have to offer.

JLC has significantly more attractive watches than anything I have seen from AP and most VCs as well. Haven't looked at enough to text to really know but of the modern stuff I have seen I like very little. It's the opposite with jlc, almost every single one of their modern designs is fantastic

Wouldn’t want either. I want a watch to see the constantly changing time, if I don’t know what day it is it’s time to book myself into the home.

Different strokes for different folks. I like my watches to have at least one complication whether that's a calendar, GMT, Chrono, moonphase. Just something in addition to the time.

I really like JLC's design a lot as well. Definitely more bang for you buck compared to the big 3. The Patek in my original post is three times more expensive than the JLC.

Although I have to say the increase in size of modern watches (even dress watches) made me look for older versions. The smaller size fits my wrist better.

The top one refers to the year.

I have woken up asking myself ; what time is it, what day is it or where am I, but never what year is it! That some time traveller shit. I never wonder what faze the moon is in either.
So Ill guess this JJLC isn't for me then, witch is a good thing, it looks ehh... to busy.
