Hi OF inmates,

I have become involved in a rather exciting adventure, helping out a gentleman in Brussels who has just acquired a Speedmaster from his Father.

Turns out to be something of a super-rarity.

More news (I hope from him, and on here) soon.

In the meantime it would be helpful to know if OF members know of any outstanding Simon Freese-type people or trusted vintage Omega specialists in Brussels/Belgium/Benelux region/s.

With thanks, Neil.

close enough to UK, isn't it? it doesn't get better than Simon.

Ferrie Schweitzer in Heerlen used to be the vintage Omega specialist of the Netherlands. Semi-retired, but still does work. Quite expensive. Has only done non-omega for me. No complaints.

Hugo Jöris in Echt is an official Omega certified watchmaker. I’ve had a good experience with him (though working on an UG).

My favourite watchmaker is Nico Rijsman more up north (Culemborg). No nonsense type of guy.

I’ve also heard good stories about Wesselink & Vreeker in Alkmaar (near Amsterdam), but no experience with them myself.

This is the outcome I am trying to nudge him towards. Train to London. Time4aPint. Happy days.

Yes. And I think he will, in time.

Abel Court? Maybe? He’s more known for Heuer but when it comes to work on meaningful vintage pieces, it’s all about philosophy IMHO. And skills. And attitude.

Looking forward to see what is this all about. 😀

Thank you @BartH . I have pinged the owner a link to this thread and I am sure he can look these guys up. I am gently encouraging him to consider coming to UK and Simon as they are known to me, but good to have options nearer his home too. Thank you for these leads/suggestions. Much obliged.

Just wanted all of you to know how much I appreciate your help! As this watch is a gift from my father and I love astronomy, it has a great value to me, even if it isn't a metallic dial one. Further investigations will follow...
And if I have to travel for instance to London to get better insights into this watch, it's "past", ... I'll be happy to do so 😀 Maybe I'd even be able to combine the passion for my watch (which I am not wanting to sell) with my passion for photography, knowing some great UK based models 😀
Hope to be able to give you concrete feedback when I'll have more news and hopefully have found a trustable watch doctor...
And of course a big Thank You Neil for your support! Talk to you soon...

I'm not sure if I want to see what you have! 😀
A watch? 😀 (Rather 2, I bought a 'normal' Speedy 3 years ago in order to have a watch to wear every day... Afraid I fell in love with Omega...)
