Old Alfa's have piqued my interest recently...thanks to BAT.
GTV's in particular

I had no idea MG made a V8 car. I always wanted a Sunbeam Tiger.
They also put a 3 litre 6 cylinder into the MGB base unit and called it the MGC.

As a lifelong Lotus enthusiast I will refrain from giving you my view on adding that much cast-iron in the front of a chassis that was outmoded on its announcement date. Oh, maybe I just did 😜

That's why the 3.5 or larger varieties of the Rover / Buick V8 were so sought after, not a lot of cast iron in an aluminium block! and subsequently less weight penalty up front.

Not our only car but one we’ve use for commuting and my son’s high school years. Comfortable and competent. Fun to drive and affordable. Mk7.5 GTI.

Golf's are the best. Can't stop buying them.
I'm getting the itch to get into a MK2. Maybe next year...

I have an 8.5 Golf which is lovely but I rather miss my 7.5 and was beautifully stylish.

Mine was at that juncture when likely service and repair costs were likely to increase inversely to the value of the vehicle declining.

Not mine but similar

I miss my MK7. I was in a similar boat. I'd had it for 10 years and really had no intention of getting rid of it.
But one day I was at the dealer for service, and they had a white MK8 R on the floor.
Knowing it was going to be the last manual (for the foreseeable future) - I ended up getting it.
Here are the two of them together...

That’s pretty much what happened with me.

Guessing here: blue corvette and yellow lotus?
The yellow one is my wife's 4C. Those are our empty nester impractical cars, although I daily drive the C8 unless the weather is severely bad (ice/snow).

Crazy good on the 4C (high 20s). On the C8, not that great. It gets amazing gas mileage on the highway (25+), but in town mixed driving is probably around 15-16mpg. It's been some time since I've checked it. Gas mileage goes noticeably down in the summer because I tend to put my foot down more and drive in Z performance mode where the shift points are higher and engine is tuned more aggressive. Now that the rain and cold is arriving I should start getting more MPG at the expense of fun.

Not low flying enough, You can't fly any lower than a Saabmarine:
Amateur lost control. You got to be careful if you like me are driving a station wagon accelerating like a Porsche 😂
