You haven't seen these?

Standard attachment to an eye-bolt going through a panel into reinforcement to spread the load. Where built-in attachment points weren't already available, obviously. In my Mini-Cooper the shoulder straps were anchored to the rear parcel shelf. My latest Lotus has the shoulder straps going to the standard rear seat lap belt points, and the straps live under the rear seat cushion for road/passenger use.
Not in the late 1960s and early 1970s, the time period I was referring to… No
And as the one pictured only has I single action safety gate, I wouldn’t use it in a pink fit!

They were pretty standard in the 1970s too. But who would wear their belts loose enough that they could ever open?? I always had the harness as tight as I could get it, and sometimes during a race wished I had gotten someone to plant a foot on my chest and pull them tighter before the start.
Probably more of an issue for weekend track drivers that don't leave the belts in all the time. Moving from stock seats and belts to race seats and harnesses if often a DIY process, and we see some poor installs every now and then.

Great bunch of cars here. I picked this one up in '97. Was able to legally get rid of the front license plate, and replaced those original 14" wheels with the same style OEM 15" ones.

I am a long time car hobbyist - I've owned around 90 cars in my life, mostly British. The current fleet consists of the following:

1972 Jensen Interceptor

71int.jpg

1958 MGA Twin Cam - a race car that I've owned for 50+ years

2009 Pontiac Solstice coupe - one of 1200 made. I have mildly modified this one to produce 375 bhp out of a turbocharged 2.0 engine

Some really cool stuff there. Between the British and Italian, hope you had something German or Japanese for when they broke down. 😁

Beautiful 911 @Flatfoot !

I too have a thing for 1973 orange cars...here's my '73 Saab Sonett III. I wish I still owned it. 🙁

my project car is nearly ‘73. Apparently Dec 31 1972.

Just the BMW. I did own the first reliable decent Japanese cars to reach these shores - a 1968 Toyota Corolla, and my wife currently runs a Mazda 3 Sport. Plus they honestly didn't break down much - I became a better than average mechanic building the race cars, analyzing what failed and finding ways to avoid the same failure in the future. I grafted the rare MGA Twin Cam head onto a later 5 main bearing MGB block and sleeved it out to 1950 cc a conversion that hadn't been attempted when I did it.

A shop I dealt with worked on a Montreal (which despite the name weren't common in Canada). Great looking engines Sort of like half my Lamborghini engine!

I have fond memories of getting schooled by a BRZ tooling around the track about 10 years ago in my Targa.

Lol I can relate. I will have had my MK7 GTI for 9 years in just a few months. Got it Memorial day 2015!
Doesn't seem that long. Especially considering that prior to it, I'd only keep cars for about 2 years!

My 'new' Volvo turned 20 last month...

Maybe you should be posting in the Classic Car Spotting thread instead 😁

Don't get too excited mine is 100% stock lol. After years of modding, I left this one alone.
I love the Audi wheels! That is a FANTASITC setup! And the GTD front end is a nice touch for sure!
I once had an Audi with Mercedes wheels lol. This was 2 cars before the MK7...

The Mk6:

There is a good chance I would still have that one had it not been totaled by a red light runner.
