Spent some time today with Redpcar off of a referral from the forum. Opened her up and found the movement to be nearly flawless and running very well, and the dial in fantastic original condition. Replaced the crystal and cleaned her up here and there. I was considering selling on ebay, but now I just dont know....

Thanks to everyone on the forum for their advice and knowledge of this treasure.

Hi - welcome to the forum. I posted comment in separate thread....

Not certain but it appears the second hand is missing its tail / counter weight
Interesting piece. Couple of things different than what I have seen with other Railmaster Official examples.
    a) your case reference (165.070) is unusual - all stainless steel versions I have seen are 165.001 and 165.002
    b) the 550 movement is marked "unadjusted" - I am used to seeing "adjusted three (3) positions"

If you are wanting to sell it you might consider ordering an extract from the Omega archives to add provenance

Shatter - my old eyes are failing me. What are the first two digits of your serial number?

I'd be interested in value too. I just dropped mine off to get opened up and possibly serviced as well. The backing on your's does not have the Seamaster logo like all others I have seen.... but still has the 4 digit designation.. maybe it was over-polished?

I see you got an extract. Looks like the case and movement are originally a Geneve with the dial and hands possibly swapped out at some point. The missing second hand counterweight may have broken off during the swap.
