Which UG are you wearing today?

As I am no expert, my question here is sincerely to gain knowledge. What makes you believe it is a redial? The aging of the lume on the hour markers looks consistent with the age of the watch. The lume on the hands is noticeably lighter, and might have been redone at some point. Again, all input sincerely appreciated.

To be blunt, there is nothing on the dial that looks right, but the main giveaway is the UG font. I will post some of my photos, will be good reference to study....

Looking at the Universal Geneve font, no way this could be original. Sorry...

Thanks for the input. You have nothing to be sorry about. Until yesterday I knew exactly zero about this model UG, it was a pure impulse purchase at a beer money price. I have no pride of “originality” here. Best, Wayne

Blunt is good. Thanks for the images. As noted in a response elsewhere here, I knew exactly zero about this model UG yesterday when I purchased....it was a pure impulse buy given the price. Doing a cursory internet image search yesterday after purchasing I noted some differences between pieces - e.g., differences in case backs....the type of wrench required to remove....positioning of UG hallmark and other printing on interior of case back....some had serial numbers etched on the inside of the case back, while others had serial numbers etched on the outside of the case back; some movements have the jewel count etched on them, others don’t; etc. Is there rhyme or reason to these differences - different series within the model, etc.? Is there a good source of info on this model. Again, I appreciate any and all education. Best, Wayne

this forum is your best resource. Because UG does not really work off references or models, the whole thing can get pretty confusing. Even more so with time only, which are not well documented compared to chronos. All those other variables you describe are secondary and not usually an issue, it's almost always the dial and hands you want to be concerned with, or at least start there, and then work down the list.

This one. Not a very common reference but a striking one - the angles of the lugs and dial finish makes it stand out from the rest of my collection

Oh, I like that too. You are really going towards the gold these days.

Just perfect. Congrats!
Good point. This is so nice ...

Are you mocking him? I don't see the point here for these unnecessary comments.

I don't know why I need to respond to this comment, but in consideration for the fact that we are all not native English speakers here, I will clarify.
My reaction was sincere. My initial thought the watch to be remarkably clean for its age. I will confess that as I considered it further, doubts emerged that others confirmed. I don't see anything wrong with compliments and respectful dialog on a post. The OP was quite OK with a discussion on the watch.

My beat up Eric Clapton the "infamous" with no lume on hands or dial.
