Which "summer" watch ?

Good morning,

As you can see I have a 1969 Seamaster Cosmic.

I love it and can't think of any reason not to wear it as my daily driver at the office. Reasons:

- Perfect size as I don't like large watches
- Amazing craftsmanship, the 2-3 seconds I stare at the sunburst dial and the mirror polished hour markers changing tones according to light direction make me forget my routine at work.

Reasons for looking for a second watch:

- At 48 yo eye sight is not the best and at low light conditions telling the time is not the best, since it does not have good contrast.

- I would like something more waterproof for rainy days, weekends, washing the car, dishes and taking on vacation this summer.

Wishlist:

- Not priced too much over the Omega. My brain would hurt to wear it instead of the Omega since I paid multiples of its price. Would love a BB58, but I would love to wear something more special like the Omega.

- 40 mm at the most. Don't like large watches

Drilled down my choices to a Christopher Ward Sandhurst and a Nomos Club 38.

In my eyes, the Nomos is closer to the dress watch style of the Omega. And I have been eyeing Nomos for more of a decade now. I love the company and the fact that they have their design language and in-house mechanisms.

The CW has a COSC mechanism. That is a huge plus. The different design language gives a bit more variety to what I wear.

Any thoughts?

I like the CW but am not keen on numerals and prefer indices.

Love Nomos, but their lume is not great. Something to consider as it seems that's a deciding factor for you.

I can’t look at a Christopher Ward because the name reminds me too much of the department store, Montgomery Ward. The Nomos Club Sport have a sunburst dial that you’ll enjoy. Plus, 200m water resistance it is really a go anywhere watch. Either nomos is a treat because they are super comfortable at under 9mm thick

Neither of them floats my boat, but I imagine your heart already knows which one you like better, so just get that one. 👍

I like the general design of Nomos, but someone pointed this out to me a while ago. Their seconds subdials are always placed slightly too high. Now I can't get it out of my head.

The 42mm version has its sub second dial placed pretty high, but those also have a date window to help ruin any dial symmetry . The 36mm looks good to me.

I love the Nomos. The reverse California dial always makes me smile.

Both of these were bought with summer in mind😎 but I live in the UK and at the moment there isn't much warmth in the sun.
