That Speedmaster is on the top of my list for my next watch. In fact, it IS the list. GMT, date, co-axial - checks all my boxes.
I doubt the first watch on Mars will be an Omega if that's what you're implying.
NASA is aiming for Mars. Omega and NASA have had strong ties. Why wouldn’t Omega make a push to be the first watch on Mars? While there is no guarantee, why would there be doubt? The use of a mechanical watch has been largely a redundant safety precaution in case all electrical systems fail.
That said, I’m just throwing out a hypothetical scenario. I don’t have a chicken in this fight.
