For me, damage to the bezel would rule out the second option.

hmm tough choice, but yea the 2nd looks more rough (bezel and polished lugs). I would go with the 1st

Maybe just be patient and search for a better option?

Mmmm I wasn't really looking. Just two collectors offloading their pieces.

#1 is quite beautiful and in good condition, minus only the minute hand.

Maybe that can be easily remedied?

Edit: seconds hand needs some easy work as well..

I like the first one as I feel it has aged better.

Since they both have their weaknesses that you already know, I would say it would be based more on price if you were to snag one.

Gun to my head, I would pick #1 and get the minute hand relumed if it needed.

Full disclosure, the second one (both actually) belongs to a friend, and it’s a lot nicer in the metal.

I do think though that it can be a little hard to judge the condition lugs based on one casual picture, so judgement should be reserved until you have better pics from several specific angles, or better yet view the watch in person yourself.

I have seen both actually. Still trying to make up my mind on it. But I'm leaning towards #1 for now
