The quartz Seamaster is a prime example of Omega's Awkward Era, whereas the automatic is simply Classic 😀

Esthetically speaking yes but techically I don't agree. faster beat, stop second, ultra quick date change. Excellent accuracy if well regulated. Less wear on the rotor post too. The only flaw is taht the first versions had a plastic day ring that was prone to wear and tended not to jump properly. Thats just my opinion. Il love the 5XX too.

·If I had to choose one, it would be the automatic, but I think that the huge day/date windows make the watch look unbalanced and busy. Not attractive at all.
Neither of them is really appealing to me. Maybe you can keep looking at watches for a little while longer before making a decision.

·I remember my first ever Omega watch was a Geneve, Cal, 613 I believe. Great entry watch into the world of vintage watches.
