I'm more drawn to the mechanical one as you said but i don’t know why, people don’t like or prefer 10XX movements. Also what do you think about the price?

I agree with @STANDY

The quartz Seamaster is a prime example of Omega's Awkward Era, whereas the automatic is simply Classic 😀

Many/most Omega fans feel that the 10xx movements were a step down from the earlier 5xx movements and well they were but that shouldn’t exclude them from your search. BTW the later 10xx movements fixed some of the issues found in the earlier versions.

For sure the automatic over the quartz.

Esthetically speaking yes but techically I don't agree. faster beat, stop second, ultra quick date change. Excellent accuracy if well regulated. Less wear on the rotor post too. The only flaw is taht the first versions had a plastic day ring that was prone to wear and tended not to jump properly. Thats just my opinion. Il love the 5XX too.

If I had to choose one, it would be the automatic, but I think that the huge day/date windows make the watch look unbalanced and busy. Not attractive at all.

Neither of them is really appealing to me. Maybe you can keep looking at watches for a little while longer before making a decision.

I remember my first ever Omega watch was a Geneve, Cal, 613 I believe. Great entry watch into the world of vintage watches.
