Which model?

I recently found my fathers old Seamaster automatic calender. I’ve been trying to identify the model, but all the simular watches I find seem to have a case that looks different, especially the lugs. Can anyone help me?

Provide a photo of the movement and inside the case back, then all questions can be answered with certainty or wait for one of the savants to reply.

My guess is 14700 or 14701.

Ref.14746 maybe?

14700 is the no-date ref, but 14701 may well be it - correct lugs too, while the 14746 have differently styled lugs that don’t flow into the case that smoothly, I think. I’ve not seen Calendar written on the 14701 very often, which is nice.

Mine wasa a 14700 but I couldn't remember if it had a date. Sold it a long time ago to someone who ended up scamming me. (Can't pay this month, it's broken)

That’s a very unpleasant experience with a very pleasant watch. Purchase another one and sell it to a nicer guy this time to overwrite that negative association. 😁

I sort of did that with a 166.010 that I hope to get serviced/restored after I find a job.

That's a really appealing watch and a great family piece.

Yes, it has great emotional value to me since my father passed away at a young age.

Thanks to all of you! It surely is a 14701 as I can see now, but as someone noted a bit unusual with the word ”calender” on the dial.
