    Hi everybody,
as I am very new to this forum and to watches in gerneral i was wondering if you have some recommendations about where i could read up on the used terminology here.
English is not my first language and i am struggling a bit with some of the words used here.

    Thanks a bunch.

Welcome and enjoy your stay here. If you aren't sure about a term, first Google it. If you haven't got the answer you are looking for, most people here would be happy to help.

In the meantime, I googled that for you :D

Oh, and your English is quite good at first glance.

Welcome to the forums and you seem to be doing great so far.
I have a couple of suggestions, firstly stick around and keep reading. Your English level is good enough that in a very short time you will be able to understand the meaning of certain words or terms from the rest the sentence. Secondly, do what you have done with this thread and ask questions. I like questions that are easy to answer, so just ask away. You can ask either in the thread where the word is used, or just list them out in this thread and most people will be happy to provide an explanation.

I found this site quite helpful for learning the basics of how watches work and what all the parts are called: www.watchprojects.com

The above is a true classic, and closer to the mark than many will admit.
