I have two MIL-spec watches with fixed bars (the two on the left): and I want something other than NATO-style, but one that can be easily removed for 'switcheroos'. I found a limited selection at watch-band-center.com, like this one: http://www.watch-band-center.com/watchstrap-p2614h175s182-Watch-strap-Arizona-.html but I would prefer different stitch/styles than they offer. If anyone knows of a good source, let me know! (FYI, my watches lugs are 20mm and 18mm)... Doug
That's the first time I've ever seen the "Arizona Clip" system. Genius! And here I was going to suggest selling those watches to make it someone else's problem...
Sine most, not all, wire / fixed lug watches are 35mm and under, I prefer to use good quality German Bunds for these watches. I picked up this bad boy recently and I'm going to put her on a dark brown Bund... I'm in the minority but I freaking LOATHE (why am I yelling? shut up, jerk) NATO straps. This particular model of Helvetia is pretty scarce and actually qualifies as rare in this condition. After a little research, the closest recent comp sold for over 2000 bucks @ a big name auction house so there was a hefty buyers premium on top of the 2g's. I paid almost nothing - it was a gift thrown in with another purchase...NOICE!!!!!!! (Go me)
I think I'll just order a few of these; I was hoping someone might chime in with some experience with these, as I had not ever heard of them.. Nice try!
Never knew they were called "Arizona Clips". Here is a clip on I have from the 40's I think it was just about the cheapest band you could get. The watch took a beating but it does run.
