Where to find Rolex 1570 hairspring?

The spring of the balance wheel of my DJ 1601 with cal. 1570 is damaged.
To avoid buying a new balance (quite expensive), I am looking for a replacement hair spring. All suggestions on where to find one are much appreciated!

This is the damaged one. It (almost) touches the balance wheel in certain positions.

Summary: I am looking for an original Breguet hairspring for my Rolex Cal 1570 (not looking for the main spring).

You do know this can be fixed, right? You just need to find a proper watchmaker - this is pretty routine work.

Main problem is that he thinks it is not the original spring. The search continues.

Why does he think it is not original, and what does he mean by that? If you replace it, the new one will not be original as well, right?

Do you have a photo of where the overcoil starts? If so, I would like to see that thanks. I don't see anything in that photo that tells me it's not a Rolex balance spring.

You are going to have a difficult time finding a spring that has the collet and stud attached, with the ovcercoil done and ready to install on the balance. Can your guy do this work from scratch with a spring that needs to have the spring vibrated, overcoil formed, pinned, studded etc.? If not, then although it is expensive, a balance complete is likely your best option. I'm, not even sure Rolex supplied or supplies just the spring - usually most companies just offer the complete balance.

Cheers, Al

Sorry, I don't have more pictures at this time. Might have misunderstood that the spring is not genuine as he was referring to the tip (pivot?) of the balance wheel instead of the spring.

In the meanwhile I might have found a used balance. It has been replaced because it is a bit worn out, but still has the hairspring intact.

Al is right here, per usual. Frankly, I wouldn't deal with a watch maker who can't field a simple ground ball like this. JMHO, please don't be offended.

He said that usually fixing a spring is not a problem, but the old spring seems to have been fixed (and balanced) quite a few times before (in the watch's history). He was afraid that when handling it another time, it might break and thus suggested replacing it. He is a highly regarded vintage Rolex watchmaker so I trust that he does not take me for a ride. The part in which I said that it is not genuine was my fault by the way: he referred to the axis that was replaced with an aftermarket part.
Anyway, I expect to have the watch back at my place anytime soon and I'll post some more pictures then. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Al and cr!
