You'd think with all the whackings over the decades that Italians would be an endangered species but that isn't the case.
Because in general they don't take out the females and immature specimens. It's all been thought out.

Very kind of you both to say so - Thanks. A good keeper is always worth a rewind... Used to collect, these were rare and beautiful (original Omega) when I bought them new about 16 years ago. I think I wore the Shark a couple of times and then the Speedy went out of the mix for a while. I was looking through some old watch stuff. After trying and failing to find an OEM double ridge shark strap, I ended up having one made by trinhlemai.7strap. I think it's a close approximation of the OEM strap and definitely worth the price (~1/10th the cost of a pre-owned Omega one). The leather is surprisingly soft and flexible. I did end up replacing the buckle with a deployant clasp, but otherwise very happy with this strap. The workmanship is definitely better than the Hadley Roma strap that I had purchased to scratch the itch, so to speak: Very comfortable on the wrist:
