Hanging out here definitely makes me want more than I have any business wanting. I’ve covered pretty much all the bases. Certainly don’t need any more. Especially since I’m bad at rotating and tend to stick to the same few pieces. Although I do rotate those few pieces throughout the day.
I never comment on her getting another pair of shoes, handbag, coat etc., save to say, “That looks good”, and we both have our own money so I never feel the need to say ….. 😉
Brings me back to think we really need to start a "Strap Exchange" sub-forum. Many of us here have a shoebox (or larger) full of them, and I'm sure plenty of them don't really get used. Not sure how how this could work but a straight trade or a small transaction model between established members would probably be a hit. Maybe the 200 post rule would need to apply to partake. Thinking out loud here hoping the mods will hear me!

You guys tell your wives about the watches! Wow...brave souls 😁
Mine always come by post. Probably because I prefer recycled (second hand) from the UK and abroad.
I’ve also never met the guys who service my watches. Again all done by post.
TBH, if I’m out and I’m expecting a 'signed for' delivery, I’ve sometimes mentioned that it’s been away for service or is a replacement part.
To be fair to Mrs Spruce, for the reasons mentioned above, she no longer asks. She knows I have quite a few watches. She has a few Longines, so we’re both happy (I hope).
I do notice friends and family tend to groan when I talk about watches. I think they are waiting to see if I get through this phase. Not sure though it ever completly went away.
Pipe organs are simply too large to store and work on effectivly. Even the little ones.
Micro electronics? Interesting in their own right, but they and the programming support can suck all the time out of a decade.
I fit all my straps into one container, (so it doesn’t look bad) and boy it’s been hard shutting the lid for the last year or two. 😗
Watches, I just left them lying around for years and now it’s “put this watch away” or “where do you want me to put this” without her even looking if it’s new or not….😉
To the OP question, of course I don't need another watch, I want it.
But I don't exactly put it that way to my wife 😀
She was happy I started selling this year... But she also see that I keep buying 😵💫. So far in 2023 I've sold 2 and bought 6... and the 7th is in its making...🤨 So I've stopped arguing and I am keeping a low (but happy) profile on it.
Lately I have been lying to myself that I need another modern watch. Not want, need 😁 That's because I already have decent selection of vintage pieces so I have to balance things out with something modern. Watches... it's a vicious cycle.
