Hi @ all. Even now, typing this text, I see this difference I mentioned above and I would like to ask: IF it is grey (green arrow)in the usual text - WHY ??? My eyes are still good but it s tiring and strenuous to me. And why is it NOT black? (red arrow) Or do I have a problem with the adjustment of my screen? And: Do others notice this too? atb Jo
On my screen, the user name under the avatar is black, the user details are grey and the text in replies is black. However, as it's a smaller font than the header and the avatar user name, it appears to be fainter but still quite legible to me. You may need to adjust your screen settings.
OK, Jim, I really can hardly read the main text, it sems to be grey and hard to read. I tried to change the adjustments, but without better results. (The text in replies is NOT black on my screen / no smartfon) No one else concerned ?? PS: If I adjust the screen to 175% tis effect is nearly gone, BUT what can I do to improve this (my) situation?
Perhaps it's a browser setting? Have you tried a different browser? I notice the difference you pointed out in your screenshot, but I don't see any grey text on my phone (using Chrome).
Oh, I take it back. The font is in fact dark grey. I guess I just never noticed until I enlarge it. It doesn't seem as bad as what you're seeing, though.
IMO, the difference in color is barely noticeable. "Tiring and strenuous" sounds like a melodramatic description for reading dark gray text, especially for someone whose eyes are "still good."
So, why grey -if you agree. What is the advantage? Why not black? Above I meant: webmaster instead of moderator
It's an artifact of the way computer displays are manipulated to make things look less blocky or pixelated by averaging out the colours when adjacent pixels would be radically different. This is commonly known as aliasing, here is an illustration Not quite so obvious is the green arrow has it too but more subtle because the green is closer to the white background than the black of the letters. The tool I used to extract this segment will have done its own aliasing -- it's hard to stop graphics tools doing it In this case I would suggest using a bold font for your browser default (or possibly you might need to over-ride the definition in the page).
