    Hey all,

My google-fu is weak, and I cannot find out when they stopped manufacturing these two watches.

There is a 2531.80 i'm interested in but it says it still has a majority of manufacturer's warranty left. I didn't think that was possible since I thought it has been at least 7 or 8 years since they made them. What year did they stop producing the 2531.80? And just out of curiosity, the 2220.80?

They want 2300 for the 2531.80 with box and papers, I guess it is so much because it is still under manufactuer's warranty. But I thought manf. warranty was 2 years and I thought this watch hasn't been produced in 7 or 8 years at least.

    Thanks all.

    Hi
I know Casino Royale had the 2220.80 it was released that year as I bought it in 2006. The 2531 probably finished around then I'd imagine. Maybe the watch has recently been serviced by Omega and he means there is a years guarantee, it can never be the original warranty as you said that was only 2 years and that's long gone.

If the watch was sitting in an AD's safe for years, and was only sold for the first time recently, it's possible it could still have some of the original manufacturer's warranty left, but I would want to see some sort of proof of that...

    Cheers, Al

The 2531.80.00 was terminated in 2006 and replaced by the 2500C-powered 2220.80.00 the same year. The 2254.50.00 was taken out of production in 2008 (and was one of the very last models still featuring the 1120 caliber at the time) also being replaced by a nearly identical 2500C-powered watch with applied markers on the dial and a new caseback (just like the changes made when 2531.80.00 became the 2220.80.00).

the 2220.80 was in Casino Royale which came out in 2006 so it was at least as early as then.

I agree with your dates but the watch that replaced the Blake/Sword Hand 2254 wasn’t remotely similar, it was just a black version of the Bond.

The 2531.80 feels amazing on the wrist. Not too flashy, no ceramic, slim and the dial is amazing...and it has the best bracelet of any watch I’ve ever owned.

Just checked the receipt, and I purchased my 2220.80 from the infamous Alpha Omega in Boston on August 17, 2007. I paid $2,500 even, plus tax. If I recall correctly, that represented their standard (and maximum) discount of 17% off MSRP.

They had both the 2220.80 and 2531.80 in stock at the time, and I closely examined both right up against one another. I remember not being able to pick out a single difference between the two of them, other than the writing on the dial! It was my first luxury watch purchase, and I certainly did not have an eye for it the way I do now. Glad I paid the few hundred extra bucks for the co-axial model, as I really like its applied hour markers today.
