Had to cook the wife a nice dinner after she raced today raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society today. She finished 4th and is up to $1035 out of her $6000 goal for the year and rode hard today - very proud of her.

Did reverse seared steaks to celebrate.

Out for dinner last night for a special occasion, and went to a new place for us...it was dark so photos aren't the best, but it was tasty...

Started off with the Marrow Boat for the appetizer...roasted bone marrow with wild mushrooms, roasted garlic, and some bacon thrown in for good measure, and of course crostini. It was wonderful...

Had been waiting all week to have their sesame crusted seared ahi tuna dish, but arrived to find they had changed the menu on Thursday, and that was no longer on the menu. 馃檨 But the filet was an okay substitute. 馃槈

I was already so full I could not eat another bite, but I can't resist cr猫me br没l茅e, and this one had cinnamon in it - it was delicious!

Awesome meal...

What time is it? Time to load up the Primo XL with some baby back ribs.

Bravo. Good for her. A very noble cause. My childhood sweetheart (Samantha) died of Leukemia. I wish you every success with your fundraising and hope you meet and surpass your target.

Sorry for your loss and thank you - she's very dedicated to the cause. I make it to most of her races, but unfortunate I have a 2 week business trip coming up and will miss her next one, so being there for this one was extra important of me and I was happy to get some action shots she liked this time.

She's a hard one to photograph and won't let me post a lot of the ones I get for a multitude of common complaints - eyes closed, mouth in a funny positions, angle makes her look fat, etc. With most other race photos (not her) she likes the photos, but when it comes to her's, it's more like 1 in 20 that pass.

Tonight we toasted to the loss of one of the founding members of Napa Valley wineries, Mr. Donn Chappellet, with an 04 Chappellet Cabernet bearing his name, served with slow smoked beef short ribs. Rest in peace Donn and prayers to the Chappellet family.

Given that my grandparents were from China, I somehow doubt that 馃槈

So you have good taste! Valrhona and Bonnat are two famous chocolate maker. If you love chocolate, here's my trick from probably one of the best chocolate maker in the world. here's the "palet d'or". a solid chocolate shell filled with "ganache" (pure chocolate mixed with fresh cream)

I've been on a burger kick lately and when I'm not making my own, I've been eating Omakase here in Singapore. On par with In N Out and light years beyond Shake Shack.

No picture now, but its only a matter of time until I have one again.

Heading to Singapore in a few weeks for work and will be there a few weeks, where is Omakase ?
