On the menu last night was bison ribeye, sweet potatoes, grilled peppers, portobellos, and asparagus. Served with a 2002 Chappellet signature Cabernet Sauvignon.

I think you're 99% responsible for me gaining 20 pounds since this thread started. You eat like a freaking sultan or potentate. Good bless you and your hearty appetite and obvious good taste (buds).

I tip my cap.

LOL - Yeah, it hasn't been good for me either. I started out this year with a goal of losing 25-30 lbs. After 6 months, I can say it's only 4-5 so far. I actually started counting calories this week. I'll still have some good weekend foods to posts, but weekdays are going to be a lot more boring for a while.

We took the easy route tonight and went to a great new chain that makes healthy tasty food at a reasonable price.

If they do this with Yum Cha I think all the health fanatics in Hong Kong will flee and run.
And the end note will be Your meal contains nothing that will reduce but enhance the risk of heart disease.

I don't know that I would call this a guilty pleasure, but strawberries are now in season here (early ones, but still local) and I will be eating a ton of these over the next month...and right about the time those end the sweet corn will be coming hopefully...I love this time of year...

Its a good thing I have a high metabolism and a somewhat physically demanding job or I would be 500lbs. Here in the east coast Canada, " Donairs, Garlic cheese fingers, deep fried beer battered fish and chips". Im bad for eating this type of food at work or when im not around my vegetarian wife lol.

Cheers
Brandon

Served with a 2002 Chappellet signature Cabernet Sauvignon.

@Baco Noir: Roger, if you get a chance please let me know how good that was. The only aged Chappellet I have left is a pair of 2005 1.5L mags, and never had anything previous to that vintage. Otherwise, I do have 6 bottles of their 2012 Signature in the cellar. Tried one before buying the 6 - it's fantastic even at this early stage. If the '02 is as good as suspected, I'll set up a search.

It was delicious! The tannins had softened and it had a nice brick color edge to the wine in the glass but hadn't changed to a full brick color in the glass and lost its fruit. Great currant and dark cherry flavor and a little peppery on the finish. Although the pepper could have come from the steaks since I season them with fresh course ground pepper.

We've had great strawberries this year in SoCal, I buy a flat at a time at Costco, freeze them, and eat 14 every morning (strawberry smoothie is how I start every single day, 14 strawberries, 1 banana, 1/2 cup of pulverized oats, 1 cup soy milk).

Threw some marinated chicken & turkey breast on the grill. Some bred and a nice salad...hmm...

I know it looks like a little mess, but it was delicious.

Thomas

Healthy but tasty too. Bison cheeseburger, kale and apple salad, and sweet potato chips.

I found out yesterday that it's the Jack In The Box special burger they have now. It's like, onion rings, cheese, ranch, bacon, and hamburger, all on a toasted and buttered bun. Yum.
