After several months with it put away in a box, suddenly I love my Seamaster De Ville again.

As much as I am an Omega guy through and through, it is very hard for me to beat the BLNR for day-to-day use in my professional world!! It is my go-to daily these days!

Pulled out the old Midland the other day to get reacquainted with it.

I really like this movement. IIRC it's an ETA 2453.
Keeping good time, gains maybe 5-10 seconds per day. Don't have a tool to fit the case back ring so I won't try making any finer adjustment.
Very slim for a self winder and very comfortable on the wrist.
I switched out the mesh band for a inexpensive clone of a Spiedel band that suits it better. May try it on a leather band soon.

    Thank you.

I've never had the back off myself, those are the seller's images, I'm wondering if this might be a compressor or super compressor type waterproof case.
The back is secured by a separate screw down ring. The internal wall around the gasket looks very deep to my eyes.
The gasket appears to have a break in it.
Heres what the case back looks like.

I presume just about any watch that old is no longer waterproof unless restored by a professional. Not being able to find even a scrap of information on this brand I wonder if its worth a full service and restoration, including resealing and re-luming. Runs fine as is, self winding easily. Clean as it is I suspect it had been serviced in recent years.
I'll probably leave it as is as long as its running fine.
Got it dirt cheap, less than $20 USD IIRC, guess no one else recognized the brand since I was the only one to bid on it.
I actually only bid on it because I'd just run across a nice looking non running Hamilton that used the same movement. I'd figured to get the Hamilton and switch out the movements but I'm glad I didn't.

That would probably be the Black Bay 79220. It will become even more special in the future... Here are some from the collection:)
    It's not always the price.....

Not flashy... but loving this guy right now. Works great with early summer shorts and flip flops.

Love the band. I've been meaning to make one like that using the metal keepers from a too small NATO strap.
    Fine watch.

For me, it has always been the classic Rolex GMT-Master. I've owned many references and love them dearly up to the 5 digit references.

A close second is the elder statesman of my small gathering, my 16800 matte dial Submariner.

Adhering to the thread title it would be this evenings Citizen but then again I admit to being fickle so we shall see what tomorrow brings ;)
