Just a heads up...before she kills you, she may do the almighty "thumb mash" to your watches...that's what my wife [MacGyverette] does. 😲
I pray my wife never learns this technique.
This reminds me of my favourite thing to do to aggressive/clueless tailgaters... I like to wash my windshield for a few seconds and relish in the instant satisfaction of watching them have to turn on their wipers and finally relent and decide to pass via the open left lane like they bloody well should have in the first place. Did these people flunk physics???
Kind of like spitting on them without the grossness but all of the satisfaction ;-) exponentially more satisfying the more expensive and cleaner the car is 😉
"Brilliant" is super gluing your wife's ridiculous shoe collection to her closet floor...of course, in my case it would be humongous dumbassery since I ultimately pay for the ridiculous shoes [as well as the closet floor]...but I'd still like to give it the old college try one of these days...just for kicks. 😁
I've been fooling around with straps lately. NATOs, RAFs, and factory leather straps. I have always gone back to the original black leather strap with deployment clasp though. My Speedmaster co-axial came with a metal bracelet along with the leather strap. I just put the bracelet on for the first time since acquiring the watch. Completely changes the character of the Speedmaster. Not sure if I like it as much as the factory leather so I'll give it a couple days and see what's what.
This may be a relatively unexciting entry, but I just picked up an Omega OEM Alligator Strap for a great price second hand. Hard to beat the quality or the look. Especially with those fitted, curved ends of the strap.
I posted my OEM strap a little bit ago (post #217) only to come home to a gorgeous BOB Marino "Chrono" watch strap recommended here on the forum (https://waccex.de/en/bob-marino-cal...e-watch_22_mm_clasp_20_mm/25-color-dark_brown). I purchased this for a preowned Hamilton Chrono that I picked up a few weeks ago, but ironically, the mailman was picking that up to return (movement failure!) as he was delivering this one. With a little squeeze, the 22mm strap fit right onto the 21mm lugs. I guess it will have a home after all. Great quality strap, by the way, for a mere $34 USD.

What model Speedmaster is that?? Three sub-dials AND a date window??

Ah, yes. This is the Speedmaster Co-Axial Chronometer, Reference Number 311.30.44.50.01.002. I call it the transitional Speedy. It blends all the design qualities of the traditional Professional (42mm) into the modern coaxial (44mm) case. It's also got a "transitional" movement. The 3313 is Omega's first coaxial escapement retrofitted into a Frederic Piguet base movement. A lot of these failed at first, so they updated the movement into B and C versions. Mine is a B version, but will get upgraded by Omega to a C when I get it serviced. In the later 9300, Omega built the entire movement around the co-axial escapement. Meanwhile, this model got discontinued. I personally think it's a home run of a model, especially if they could put a 9300 in it. It's got the date window, larger case, and the traditional Speedmaster styling.
