I was under the impression that those 3-6-9-12 dials were used on the earliest of Constellations rather than a Cal 551 (Which the seller refers to as a 561) http://www.ebay.com/itm/RAREST-OMEG...851432851?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item460c248d93Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
I've seen a couple of them. That one's a redial, very polished and has a whole bunch of other problems. Here are some more:
Yea it looked all kinds of wrong, I was really curious though as to whether the 3-6-9-12 layout was used on these alter connies as opposed to just early Cal 352/354 bumpers
Ahk cool, that's what I was curious about. I know Mike has a thing for the 352 versions of those dials but I wasn't sure if they were unique to those.
I think this style was used in all of the early chronometer calibers from 352 through 551, except the 504 calendar. IIRC, there was a cal. 561 calendar version as well. Hope this helps, gatorcpa
Omega did still use this layout in 1960 when the 551's and 561's were in production. They made quite a few 50's styles with the beginning of the 60's calibers
