I get the feeling it is going to some other silly LE and not the 60th. I stopped by my AD today to see if they knew anything. As usual, clueless.

What we're getting tomorrow is a social-media film commemorating the moon landing, featuring footage from a gala event Omega held in London a month or two ago - during which they did not introduce any watches. I believe Omega is doing this for two reasons: One, there's a lot more attention being paid to the Speedmaster in collector circles recently, and to do nothing at all on the anniversary of the moon landing would be a missed opportunity for them. Two, sadly we are losing many of the Apollo astronauts to old age these days, and I think Omega wants to do something fun with them before they are too frail to travel to events like this.

The next notable anniversary is two years away, and that's when they'll be releasing the next Apollo XI limited-edition Speedmaster.

That's pretty awesome. I love when they do stuff for NASA, especially Apollo XI.

I'm also really looking forward to 2019 for that next LE Apollo watch. I'm sure it being the 50th that Omega will knock it out if the park.

I enjoyed it too but was expecting a bit more (of anything some more product placement).

They ran a boutique event in London last night that continues the Speedmaster theme over from the 60th poster, and the London Moonwatch event earlier in the year.

Pieces from the museum on display, lots of new stuff to try on, oh and some fun goodies :)

I'd like to see this kind of thing done for Apollo XIII. What Lovell and his crew accomplished and overcame had as big an influence on the Space Program as any moon landing.

To be clear, I did not have any advance knowledge of what they were actually going to do, but it wasn't hard to tell that whatever they were doing wasn't going to be a new watch.

I think it went something like this.

Swigert: 'Okay, Houston, we've had a problem here.'
Houston: 'This is Houston. Say again please.'
Lovell: 'Houston, we've had a problem. We've had a main B bus undervolt.'

But it does sound better as the tag line reads.
