What's a "true" 105.003 "Ed White"... the '63, or '64? (edit: could it have been a 105.002-62?!)

😁

Now, was “New Ed White” really widely referred to? I thought we were crediting you with that? 😗
Aww come on, I did credit you with having limited success! I never claimed to be having more 😉

I suppose we are left with trying to link to actual history.

Don’t be too sure: we’ve got the “Ed White” for a 2020 watch 3D recreated out of Gene Cernan’s personal watch, and we’ve got the “Rising Sun” to describe an Olympic commemorative watch that specifically represents the Americas. 😲

That said, I’m apparently counter-culture when it comes to preferring accurate watch nicknames

I’ll be happy if all I accomplished was furthering the point that “Ed White” alone doesn’t cut it, while meanwhile being the foil to your brilliance

Without out a doubt, you did contribute to that. I would say, amongst collectors, “The New Ed White” seems to be a sufficient title, and leaves very little confusion. But the key is the “The.” Cuz you can’t say, “Hey you envious bastard, have you seen my new Ed White?”

Plus, nobody's seeing around the corner here: if two very different watches are given remotely similar nicknames, then our significant others may begin thinking we unnecessarily have 2 of something
