Price is pretty low right now. Under $3k. You could sell the parts for more than that - dial, bezel, movement and hands. Finding a decent CB case might be a challenge. Spacefruit probably has 3 or 4 tucked away is some jungle hideout.

Ooops, my bad. Now we have a dial that we know has been touched up. Could be a valuable reference down the road. I've got 2 CB cases that are nice. They do however have all of the other parts still attached, including a perfect dial (imho) on one of them. 12.30.12 _22speedys n coffee.jpg

Truly a shame. I saw that yesterday and thought at first glance that it might have been a HF case that was mislabeled on eBay. The CB's are truly beautiful if the facets are still visible. If I didn't have one, I'd say that I wish they would've made all of the cases instead of HF. But since I do have one, I like the story the way it is. ;)::psy::

I've got some really gorgeous professional 321 dials but no CB case. But, you never know.

that dial is really nice (even if touched up).

could someone help me get a better handle on what it is you're seeing with the facets?

is it the ridge along the top of the lug (first image), or the line along the edge (second image)? I'm not very clear on this point.

Neither. I used to be puzzled till I read Will's page on 105.012 CB cases - scroll all the way to the bottom of the page for the explanation.

You can see them clearly on mine, at least on the bottom two lugs. Look at the 40 on the bezel, then down to the vertical facet on the right lower lug. It's also very clear on the 7 o'clock lug

More pictures of the watch case for you buggers.
Yes the facets are not obvious but I cannot see any other signs of the case been touched so why concentrate on this area is anyone's guess.

I think they are saying that the flat facet part of the case has been polished away.

Where you see the yellow should be flat across the top.

The arrows on the case are for my own research.
The top line of the lug always has a slight change of direction where the facet starts at the strap side, I wanted to make a note where this one is for future reference. The top lug line is still sharp too, I would have though that it would have been rounded if it would have been refinished at some point.
Anyway I like to do weird things like this for my own enjoyment ::screwloose::

Just wanted to drop back with a thank you for the lesson, both here and via PM. Very helpful. I can now see the facets - like those 3D images made up of dots.. they are now clear to me.

    High fives all 'round!

Great, i hope this thread made clear that this watch is only usable for someone who has a nice spare case for this watch (like me) and that all of you stop bidding on it, so i can get it for a nice price. :D:whistling:
