Longines 5697, cal 27M.
Just returned from service, the movement looks beautiful. I searched the internet for Special, it looks like it's the Swedish version. Except I didn't find one with a central seconds like this one
What a great vintage look and the patina makes it more "special"

Channeling my inner “Great War” on this Monday:

Cal. 13.34 in unmarked Borgel case w. Baume marks; hallmarks on case/buckle indicate 1916/17 assay.

Today a ref. 8204, from 1968, cal. 285
It shares the same chunky case with other ultra chron automatic references from the same era with cal. 431, like 7951.
Honest patina, nice to wear.

Little bit gold today.

The dial on the 9001 is mesmerising. I had no idea they came in black. Incredible. Thanks for sharing.

After finding out that my last years auction find needs a proper revision, I decided to send it to Longines HQ in St. Imier for inspection.
Originality of dial, case and movement already confirmed by their vintage department, watch now is headed for service incl. certificate of authenticity. Will take some months but very much looking forward! 😀
