Gorgeous

Many thanks @LesXL. 👍

A real cassa moneta 😀
For sure, less prestigious than your beautiful historic watches but I really like it 😜

What year is it?
Here is another Admiral with a relatively close serial number (16'666'108 vs. 17'025'075) that was produced in 1972. If you want, you should be able to contact Longines and get an extract to confirm.

Edit: 1973 or 1974 seems more likely, I think. See extract below of 17'614'038.

That is a great design and speaks of it's age. The only thing wrong with it is it is too small for me to wear 😀
Oh, hell, I think if I had the opportunity, I would wear it. 32mm?
You’ve taken to wearing very large watches, that’s why 😀
Yes 32mm exactly, I would like those sizes to be too small for most men, that would remove some competition 😜

Thankfully the one below is really too small for you.
It still was a bit of a bidding war though.

So far, the only 4037 known to exist with an Annapolis dial. Andy Tolley and Philippe Hebeisen from the Heritage Museum researched this example.

Beautiful watches. As rare as the single crown is, I prefer the one with two.

Seems you are part of the majority. It doesn't look like a Weems without a lock of some kind.
I may be in a minority in the sense that I like watches not so much on the basis of rarity or provenance, but on the basis of their aesthetics - ie how pleasing do they look to me— and their technical or overall societal history, ie what do they represent as examples of societal evolutions. Anyhow I just like the “technical” two crown look, and your example is beautiful for sure.
