Posted this a couple weeks ago. Had a broken stem, wouldn’t run, and had a lot of corrosion/rust around lugs and under the case back. Tried my hand at fixing it myself. Got an optivisor, and cheap Amazon set of tools and somehow got it running! Disassembled and cleaned all parts in an ultrasonic with lighter fluid, lubed and put back together. I did a very light sanding on to blend some of the pitting on the case.

Dates to 1942, about 33mm case diameter, 35 with crown. Obviously a repainted dial, but I find it gives a lot of character, especially with the lume that’s gone black. Got it for 25 bucks and was definitely worth the time fixing it, learned a lot about watches and will be lookin for more projects.

Don’t laugh at the oversized leather strap and pins sticking out. It’s all I had and wanted to wear it. I ordered proper length pins and strap, hopefully arriving soon.

My late 1920s calibre 12.92, vitreous enamel dial, white gold filled case. This one sat in a drawer of scrap watches for about 50 years, until the right combination of another donor watch, and motivation to see the Longines run again, encouraged me to restore it.

I think it turned out great! An excellent buy at $25 for an everyday beater watch.

Although I don't actually wear it more than a minute or two. The crystal is still the original I think. I just like looking at it.
