Got my hands on this a few weeks ago, and I knew it was going to be a headache, but the price was just way too good to pass on.

    THE BAD:

-The movement is beating but in desperate need of a cleaning and the crown is so stiff and difficult to wind. I'm not even sure if the crown is original now that I think about it.

-A redial that makes me cringe

    - The case back does not match. It's for a 14393 and not a 14381. ( Oddly enough this is the second constellation I've purchased with a mismatched case back)

    THE GOOD:

    -Original beads of rice bracelet.

Do you guys think it's worth the headache to save this little guy? Or shall I flip it as is to someone else looking for a project watch?

I already own a 551 connie so ultimately my intent is to let this one go. What would you do??

    THANK YOU IN ADVANCED! :D

With that dial, i'd put it in a wee little coffin and bury it.

Keep the case, hands, and crown. eBay the movement and dial for someone looking for parts. Find a dial/movement to drop in and keep the back until/if you can source the correct one.

It's a parts watch with a bracelet. Sell it as such - either all together or remove the bracelet and end links from the head and offer them separately.

When I think about it, I never could really understand the purpose of redialing. What good can someone see coming from redialing?

Is this not a prime example of when a redial would be acceptable?

Get the dial properly redone and the movement serviced?

Very difficult to find. 99% of pie-pan dials found as spare parts on eBay are bad redials or fakes.

The few that I've seen that are good go for hundreds of dollars.

This is a parts watch at best. @ulackfocus is correct.

Sell the bracelet separately, then decide if you need the parts yourself or sell the rest.

    I like the bracelet.

What makes you think it's a redial?

    ::stirthepot::

That watch is a good example for "friends won't let friends bid drunk" ... :whistling:

(And once again, good advice was giveren) :D
