If my eyes aren't tricking me it is a caliber 285. that is worth something for your research. Seems watch dates back to 1959.

Yes it does write 285. I'll go again in two days for better photos of the back plate. That was a bummer.

This is an example of the reference number inside the caseback (although yours likely won't have as many digits). It will help determine if the movement and caseback are original and what correct dials look like.

Excellent. I will go in two days and post a message once I get it.

Ugh so annoyed by the poor quality photos.

That photo tells us the movement caliber. From there, we can narrow it down but take a look at these references, all using the same movement, and see if you can figure out which is yours. http://naligazone.com/index.php/data-watch/omega/caliber-2/cal-285

I would like to thank every one of you that has provided information on this thread. You guys have been really helpful.

As for the link that you have provided, supposing that the watch is indeed a seamaster (can't find a reason where my grandfather would change the dial with a different model name, i.e. from a geneva dial to a seamaster dial), my guess would be that its the CK 14390. It is by far the closest thing compared to mine. Any input supposing that it is in fact that model?

We can speculate all we want but, assuming the case back is correct, we can only confirm you are correct by seeing the reference number. Looking forward to seeing the photo.

Ιn the meantime, when it comes to changing the dial, do I have to find a dial from the exact model, or will a dial from the same cal but different model work? Little bit confused on that subject.

Sorry If i'm asking so many questions, but I find this whole thing extremely fascinating.

Dial has to fit the movement, and the case...
