What Shoes Are You Wearing WSYW

These are my latest, Loake Aquarius.
They have a lightweight Goodyear sole and are really comfortable.

The downside is, with them being lightweight, the soles won't last long.

I'm a sucker for boots and decided this weekend that I'd treat myself to a pair of Red Wings, either Iron Ranger or Blacksmiths.

There are no shops nearby to try them on and as the advice is to size down I decided against buying online.

I ordered some Solovair burgundy Rub-Off 6 eye boot brogues instead.
Going back 50 odd years I've never got a pair of DM's that I've got on with, so it's 馃 with these

I know I'm a month late with this reply, but just wanted to confirm that it's good advice! I'll typically wear a size 10, sometimes a size 9.5. My iron rangers are size 8.5 and fit great after break-in. I think I tried on the blacksmiths and would need a 9, I take a 9 in the moc toe heritage.

I still fancy those Blacksmiths and will get a pair at some stage.

These are my Solovair rub offs.
I'm surprised they didn't need breaking in and were comfortable from the off.

Cool thread, some really unique and varied stuff here! I'll submit my favourite R.M. Williams pair, their Gardener whole cut work chelsea in vintage brown "crazy horse" oiled nubuck.

New casual court shoes from Thursday Boot Co.

Those look pretty nice! Big fan of elevated sneakers. How's the comfort? I have the classic Common Projects Achilles but they're not that comfortable, I wouldn't get them again.

These are really nice. Well constructed and comfortable right out of the box. They have a number of colors and the price is right. I'm in for another pair in the near future.

Boots out for our first North Texas Blue Norther this day and overnight.
These were and continue to be the most comfortable boot I鈥檝e ever worn. Just look at that 100% glove, soft as budda, calfskin lining.
Antelope via Italy to Brooks Brothers.

Antelope leather looks good, really not familiar with it. What's the difference compared to say kudu?

Black suede R.M. Williams Craftsmans on site for me today, one of my all time favourites.

The box States: Waxed Kudu style 57135.

It is tough yet flexible.

Love the natural finish/color (Gaucho) and I just condition them once a year.

Dainite sole is about to be replaced after 12-14 years.

A pair of Jones Brogues. One of the cheaper brands of English shoes but they are comfy and classic.

Very vintage Lucchese Boot made at the original factory in San Antonio when they only completed 50-100 pairs a week. Mellowed Butterscotch in elephant with fully lined, glove soft, calf.

Picked up some lined Florsheims this evening. So much better in the cold than bare leather.

Pic just pulled off the internet

Elephant leather is absolutely wild, I've never seen that done before, your collection is great. I did check this out of curiosity on Lucchese's site, "It is ethically sourced through regulated conservation efforts and acquired from natural mortality or population management programs designed to protect ecosystems."

The only exotic (kinda) leather I have is kangaroo. I don't have any good fit pics on hand, will try to remember to share next time I'm wearing them. I've seen Australian saltwater crocodile and ostrich boots, but very uncommon and expensive. Vast majority of footwear here will just be cowhide of varying ages and finishes.

A lot of vintage Omegas came with vintage elephant leather straps, Omega doesn鈥檛 really mention that anymore when they talk about those watches though lol.

Defiantly a lot of roo leather around, I鈥檝e got a few watch straps made of roo, my Mrs was a bit shocked by that and didn鈥檛 like the idea of leather being made of a cute marsupial. Having said that, we have a whole lot of spare roos
