They do! I complained about the fit was too loose on the finished pair. They took them back and remade the shoes.
The last one of those I saw was at my parents house 45 years ago and it did not survive my brother and I swinging from its arms at speed..
Reading through the thread, a few more for me. Toiletries- Aqua De Palma, Chanel Bleu. Shaving- Razors Gillette Fat Boy, Hoffritz. Blades Feather. Brushes Simpson. Shaving bowl - Omega! Shoes Church’s (if possible) loafers Tods Shirts - Oscar. Casual trousers- Meyer. Socks- Falke I think that’s more than enough, probably overkill!
Nothing finer than French fries done in duck fat......double fried. Fry them one time, let cool, then fry them again. Decadent. Wife does the procedure a couple of times per year.
It seems I misinterpreted the meaning of the thread title, I thought non watch brands meant watches made by Guuci or Elle or any other number of clothing fashion houses or car oil, power tool companies etc but this thread has been fun to read thru any way. I really have very little brand loyalty though I have owned about 10 Honda cars.
True- but what I am enjoying is seeing how our favorites lists really speak to a group of people who value quality goods and not just name brands. It clearly goes beyond watches into every day goods like socks and underwear and speaks to a culture of people who take time to value even the smallest rituals or items that make up our lives. If people in general gave more thought to their daily items (rather than living with just what’s offered to them at their local box store) I think we would see a very different direction in consumer goods than we have seen in the last 30 years.
great, now I’m window shopping for Persol 649’s. The only brand I’m really loyal to right now are York Athletics shoes for the gym.
I've been struck by the amount of crossover on many of these brands and items among us as well as the lack of hyper-trendy fads (Canada Goose jackets anyone?)
Apple comes to mind but it’s a necessity for work. If I could live without the brand I would consider it, they haven’t exactly been ethical the past few years. Tesla. Continue to be true innovators in the space.
