Be careful hunting them. The dial was available as a spare part so some watches got converted and are worth less money.

 

Thanks for the tip. I’ll keep that in mind if I see one. I’d likely only buy one from someone on here who’s a true trusted seller.

Isn't there some difference with the parts dial? Like it doesn't have the dates on it, or some other tell?

 

AFAIK nope. More then a few LE’s from that era had the dials available as parts. Now LE dials are swap only.

I’d list the LE dials available on the Speedmaster as parts but I know how much you love Speedies.

 

I know the panda dial for the Mitsukoshi vs the Apollo 11 anny had that dial variance (Look at 2003 and 2004 in Moon Watch Only link below).

My friend has one, bought it new with a large discount at the time, it's his daily watch and it's stunning. The dial just stands out.
