I have not made a dumb thread of the sort in a long time so forgive me, but here we go. My main guidelines over the last three months of searching for my next tool watch is as follows must look and actually have features of a watch from the 80s to mid 90s(like down to the movement being produced since the 80s/90s), 50-200m water resistance, preferably under 39mm, durable, long lasting, no mechanicals sadly, under $300, light weight , and that is about it. Over this period my top two contenders are the Alba APBT211 and the Casio GW-M5610. Two different beasts from the same country. Alba has the Seiko 7N43 movement which has been nearly unchanged since the 80s while the Casio features that signature red line of the original G. Both you can set and forget. Hard choices. Now here is some pictures I stole.
Won’t make the under 39mm but Luminox is a great watch 200m WR and great night Very light watch on the wrist and comes with a few cool straps. My beater of my beater collection
I thought about suggesting that but I assume quartz for no winding, and it doesn’t meet his water rating.
They remind me of the 80s too. I had an A-Team digital watch when I was a kid, think it was a special offer in "The Eagle".
