In NJ where could I bring it to have it repaired? Is it worth repairing or same value in scrap, not working. It was a family friend who passed and If I sell or buy it I need to Write a Check. ALL $ the estate raises goes 100% to ALS Research, her husband Died of ALS in the late 80's. Any help Appreciated
Strictly speaking, not worth repair. However, a lovely vintage piece that for sentimental value worth it for a special woman in your life. I can't help you with a New Jersey watchmaker but I would consider getting it serviced and then donating (if you can afford it) the service cost to ALS. Tom
I have 2 options...sell it, scraping gold, diamonds, parts etc, or fix and sell it...either way all the $ goes directly to ALS. Or get a value, same senaio, as is or fixed, and donate my own $ to ALS Either way same $ amount in going to ALS. I sell for a living, and typically take a %, but because of the nature of this situation I'm donating my % as well. Again thanks for any help
