I'm going ashtray... if you google there are quite a few examples... from the days when sparking up a Dunhill whilst buying a time piece was acceptable. 😉

Is it no longer acceptable? I must have missed the memo. But those trays are much cooler than mine.

No judgement here... but smoking inside a public building in the UK has been against the law for several years now. 😉

At first, I though ashtray also. However, on a closer look, it seems that there is no place to securely rest a cigarette. Like this one:

The other two both look like valets to me.

Gents,

It is a fairly big bowl, lots of things might fit.

Since I am somewhat well-known in the field of the French Revolution, I might well enlighten your days, in stating that this bowl actually is used as a very handy bowl in the people’s festivities of beheading the gentry of those days.
To cut it short (pun intended), this bowl was placed in such a way, to catch the ‘loose’ head. Color of the bowl is the actual give-away.
This pic might help to visualise.

Omega was in those early days in a fierce combat with the –since then obscure- French watch-industry. Omega considered this a crown (....) on its work.

I could see that tray being used in a dealers shop maybe to hold parts while being fixed.

When googling "morceau attrayant" the first page on images is just a bunch of attractive women in business attire. 😎

You're welcome! 👍

I'm completely set on it being an 18th century breast feeding bowl, because it will be the weirdest yet absolute coolest item I own. It also opens the door for some really terrible and akward pickup lines / conversation starters.

I actually had to google what a breast feeding bowl even is. i have to say, it was a much easier research project than finding out what that old rusty watch is that grandpa left you. 👍

vide poche. Where you dump the contents of your pocket when you get home, so you can dump them back into your next pair of pants when you leave in the morning.

So that's what those are called!
