Hi @Watch-up

I am not an expert but your watch looks nice. If it’s a family heirloom it will be priceless to you.

Well let’s see you have an internet connection and I assume you can hit google.

the model number is clearly on the back of the watch. And the serial number is on the movement.

if only there was something you could do with that information…

(Hint) doing zero research and asking experts to do your work doesn’t tend to make people want to give up their hard earned knowledge for free. Especially when you don’t say thanks or please.

I have been into many forums where people share info without argue about giving hard earned info for free? Sometimes people ask for info and other times they give info, and I think almost all questions that are asked and answered in these forums can be searched up by using google, but that require a lot of time and that is the reason for these groups where people can share info in a much more easy way than google where you very often have to search in a jungle of different sites.

Dear @Watch-up , I have enjoyed several of your posts, and I think in a way most of us have. By OF standards, I am not knowledgeable about watches, but I am a keen student of language and culture. I think English is not your first language - am I right? There is sometimes a danger of misunderstandings, and the mistaken taking of offence. I am sure you do not intend excessive bluntness in your posts, and no-one is trying to insult you with their humorous remarks. A lot of what makes OF the best forum is this kind of exchange, which can have more personality to it than the more routine - maybe dull? - exchanges you might see elsewhere. Welcome to the fun house.

I´m from a scandinavian country and not an expert in the english language but I have been joining many forums and none of the member there are bullying new members in such a rude way as some of the members in this forum does. There is anything wrong with every post I make in this forum, but in other forums, the members are very helpful and answer similar questions without quarreling about giving away free knowledge.

Mmm... We do have a lot of Scandinavian members, and they usually tough it out against the horrid Anglos no problem. I still think there may be a bit of an etiquette issue, but I can't quite put my finger on it...
Oh well. Time to unfollow I guess.

This forum is no different to joining a club. You don't just walk in the door and demand service.

A polite introduction as to the background of you and your watches, followed by some clear well focussed pics goes a long way to prompting the members here to respond in kind.

Short, blunt demands for value or where to sell watches will only elicit short blunt answers.

Yes we all have our issues and some of us are born with less social skills than other but that could be because of different kind of autism, neglection in childhood or other things that some other rude persons don´t understand when they start bullying these persons.

I have also learned many things by reading books and studying by going several years extra in different schools but that doesn´t mean that I ask others to do the same in order to get answer to something they don´t understand. I help them by sharing what I know, I help starving people by giving away thousands of bucks every year. I don´t bully them in the same rude way as some members in this group do.

Anybody here who know the age and value of this Omega watch?
Okay, this was your post to open this thread. No 'hello'. No 'my name is ...' No 'thank you in advance for any information you can provide.'

That is considered by many to be rude and/ or a 'drive-by' post.
